Our Relationship

The Awesome Wedding Cake

Our relationship, even though it has not been easy, has been good. It’s
caused us to grow, mature, and sharpen our image more like Christ’s. We
hope to reflect Christ’s love and commitment to the Church in our
marriage. That night we made promises that are not easy but will hold
the relationship together. We promised love; but not the kind of love
that you feel when life is easy. We promised love that is aggressive
and not passive, full of determination, and unconditional. In the end
we want to better serve God and be more like Christ. May our
relationship always honor and glorify God.

Paco’s Testimony

My parents migrated to Nevada before I was born.  Life was good like it should be for any kid.  But, life got better when I was about 9 years old.  At the age of 8 my parents started sending me and my brothers to church.  It was their way of getting some free time to rest without worries.  As the months went by, the pastor took an interest in me.  Out of love he invited me to a Bible camp. It sounded fun so I accepted his invitation after getting permission from mother.  This was the summer of ’92 or ’93.  One of the things I most remember was walking up to the registration desk with my duffel bag then the pastor pulling out his check book and paying my camp fee.  Up to that moment it had never occurred to me I would need money.  I was a little embarrassed.  That night in the cabin a very direct question was asked.  “Are you saved?”  All the other campers had responded, “Yes,” confidently so I did the same.  However, I had no idea what that meant.  Later that week, on Wednesday, I remember being in chapel service.  The preaching was about Hell.  It wasn’t the first time I had heard of such a place but I was never told what I had to avoid it!  I don’t remember all the service, it was too long.  But I didn’t let go by the invitation of speaking with a counselor on how to avoid hell.  I walked up to the front of the mess hall intimidated.  The next thing I remember is being outside with “wildcat.”  He was a young counselor whose real name I don’t even remember, but, I can’t forget his thin athletic body, bald head, and nerdy glasses.  We sat on the stairs outside the mess hall.  He drew a heart on the stairs and placed stones on them.  All I remember about his message is him explaining that those rocks where the sin in my life.  If I received Christ as my personal savior he would wipe those rocks away.  I can still see his hand wiping away the rocks.  He led me in a prayer that I don’t remember how it began or ended.  But I walked away confident that I was “saved” from hell.  I had been saved not because of the prayer I have forgotten, but because I had trusted in the sacrifice Christ had done.  His love for ME! took Him to the cross. God’s Grace led me to that church.  God’s grace invited me to that camp and His grace payed for my camp. His grace saved me that summer.

Camp Kum-Ba-Yah

Jennifer’s Testimony

When I was 16 years old, a friend of my dad invited me to a Word Of Life Summer Camp. There one of the counselors explained to me that I am a sinner, and because of that I was going to hell, and that my good  works couldn’t save me; that the only way to get saved was believing in Jesus Christ, who died for me in the cross, so I could  be forgiven  from my sins.  So that day I accepted Christ as my savior.  In that same week God placed in my heart to learn more about Him and His Word, so that one day I could be a counselor too and help people get saved.  But when I went home, I started hanging out with my old friends, and didn’t grow spiritually. The next year I went to the summer camp again and Tracy Delibasich (WOL Panama director’s wife) started a discipleship with me, and I finally started growing, and in the year  2002 I decided to go to WOL Bible Institute in Argentina  for a year to learn more about God. In the year  2003, while serving as a counselor in the summer camp, the Lord placed in my heart to be a full time missionary, so I went to the Bible Institute for three years, so I could be better prepared to serve the Lord.  I finished the Bible Institute in 2005 and went back to Panama to serve in Friendship Bible Church. During 2006 and 2007, I was serving  in the youth  group discipling the girls, and  in 2007 and 2008 I served as a second grade teacher in Panama Christian Academy. On December of 2007 I married Paco, my boyfriend since 2005. For this year, 2009, we are going to be serving the Lord in youth pastoring at Friendship Bible Church and in the Sunday school program.

    Praise the Lord!!
A good friend of mine from India told me years ago to always greet the Saints with a praise! Both of your testimonies are very touching! It is always nice to see the Lord not only bringing us to Him, but using us for His work as well. Like the scripture says, For we are His workmaship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them!(Eph 2:10) I know that we do not always know what the work of Lord is in our lives, but it is encouraging to see the Lord leading your life in His work! I hope that through your experience in Panama you both continue to grow in your relationships with the Lord and each other. My prayers are with you!

    In HaMashiach,
    Candy
